Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions that are not answered here, please send us an email at, [email protected]. We try to respond to all emails within 24 hours. Thank you for supporting our local family business.

What kind of items do you take?

  • Books of all genres, from textbooks to novels to comic books
  • CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, audiobooks, and video games
  • Clothing for all ages and occasions, from newborns to formal wear
  • Bedding and linens in good condition

What other items besides books and clothing do you take?

  • DVDs
  • CDs
  • Video Games
  • Audiobooks
  • Software
  • Vinyl Records
  • Puzzles (please only give puzzles that you KNOW have all the pieces. Count them if you have to please. Nobody wants to do all that work only to find one piece missing)
  • Board Games (again, please make SURE all the pieces are present)

What items do you not take?

  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Moldy or mildewed books
  • Moldy or mildewed clothes and bedding
  • Other household items that are not clothing, books, and other media.

What do you do with the items you collect?

We are a family business, therefore we sell whatever items we are able to to provide for our family and fund our free pick-up service. However, there are a lot of items we are unable to sell for whatever reason. That being said, we’ve identified a pressing need for quality used clothing, books, and media within our community. By partnering with shelters, senior living facilities, and other organizations, we’re dedicated to keeping these items out of landfills and in the hands of those who can benefit from them.

Are you a non-profit organization?

We are not a non-profit organization. We are a local family business that offers a free community pick-up service.

Can I get a tax deduction from you?

Because we are not a non-profit we can not give any tax deduction forms. If you need a tax form you may want to take your books to a registered 501(c)(3) organization. If a tax form isn’t needed, we can pick your items up for free.

What if it is going to rain or snow?

We will still be coming. Just make sure your items are covered and protected.

How should I get the items ready for you?

  • Please keep boxes of books under 50 lbs each. We have found that small moving boxes that measure 16inx12inx12in or smaller boxes work very well.
  • We also prefer the boxes to be full even if that means using smaller boxes. This helps with the transport as well as further reducing the chance for damage.
  • If no boxes are available, plastic bags are fine as long as they can be carried by one person safely.
  • Clothing and linens can be placed in plastic bags or garbage bags whichever is easier for you.

When will you be arriving?

We ask everyone to have their items out by 12 noon. We will be by to pick them up between 12pm-8pm. We cannot guarantee that we will be by at any specific time as there are many factors that determine when we will get to your address the day of your scheduled pick-up. Thank you for your understanding.

How many items can I give at one time?

There is no limit as to how many items we pick up. We do ask that it be at least one full box of books or one full trash bag of clothes. We unfortunately can not afford to provide a free pick-up service for one book or one piece of clothing. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I schedule for multiple days and you come more than once?

Absolutely! Our goal is to help you free up space in your home. If you get 4 or 5 or 10 boxes ready on one day and would like them gone so that you can have space to get others ready, that’s just fine. Just include this information at the bottom of the Pick-Up Request form in the Additional Comments field.

What is your pick up area?

Our current pick-up area includes the following counties in Indiana:

  • Morgan
  • Johnson
  • Monroe
  • Hendricks
  • Marion
  • Boone
  • Hamilton

If you are not in these counties but close, fill out a pick-up request form and we will do our best to help you.

Other than giving my items, what other ways can I help support your business?

This one is HUGE… please tell others about our service. We need your help in telling others about our free service. The best ways are on social media like Nextdoor, Google and Facebook.
